چکیده
Coronary atherosclerotic disease is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity due to major cardiovascular events in the United States abroad. Risk stratification early preventive measures can reduce given long latent asymptomatic period. Imaging tests detect subclinical coronary atherosclerosis aid initiation targeted preventative efforts based on patient risk. A summary available imaging for low-, intermediate-, high-risk patients outlined this document. The American College Radiology Appropriateness Criteria are evidence-based guidelines specific clinical conditions that reviewed annually by multidisciplinary expert panel. The guideline development revision include an extensive analysis current medical literature from peer journals application well-established methodologies (RAND/UCLA Method Grading Recommendations Assessment, Development, Evaluation or GRADE) rate appropriateness treatment procedures scenarios. In those instances where evidence lacking equivocal, opinion may supplement recommend treatment.

In patients with chronic chest pain in the setting of high probability of coronary artery disease (CAD), imaging has major and diverse roles. First, imaging is valuable in determining and documenting the presence, extent, and severity of myocardial ischemia, hibernation, scarring, and/or the presence, site, and severity of obstructive coronary lesions. Second, imaging findings are important in ...
